Please review this information before you apply.
To ensure your child will have access to the bus for the first day of school (September 3, 2024), bus pass applications must be received by July 31, 2024. Any applications received after this date will not be included in the routing process and may not be processed in time for the first day of school. Please register prior to August 1st to ensure your child may ride the bus on the first day of school.
Full payment of fees must be received prior to students being assigned to a bus.
If your child does not have a valid bus pass for the 2024-2025 school year, he/she will NOT be able to board the bus.
- Students requesting transportation after August 1st of any given year must register by completing this application form and submitting it to the Transportation Department, via e-mail.
Students will only be permitted to ride once their application is received at the Transportation office and has been processed. You will receive email notification of your child’s start date on the bus once the application has been processed.
- There are no Bus Fees for students who live more than 1.0 km - Grade K-6 away from their designated school (proof of primary address is required).
- There are no regular single seat placement fees for students who live over 2.0 km - Grade 7-12 from their designated school;
however, students who do reside more than 1.0 km - Grade K-6, 2.0 km - Grade 7-12 from their designated school, and who wish to access Supplemental Bus Service (alternate seat placement), will be charged the Supplemental Bus Service Fee. There must be space on the bus to accommodate your request, the stop must be on the route.

- Students who live less than 1.0 km - Grade K-6, 2.0 km Grade 7-12 away from their designated school can access busing from a designated stop located on route for a fee if space is available to accommodate your request. (Proof of primary address is required)
- Passes are non-transferable and must always be presented to the bus driver in order to board the bus
- All transportation changes must be processed through the Parent Portal under Parent Online Forms and Requests tab. In the online forms and request tab in the Parent tab there is a section called Online Forms and Requests. Please select from the Bus Pass Application Form, Bus Pass Replacement Request, or the Change of Address form, (proof of primary address is required).
- Changes to busing information will be accepted via the Parent Portal, or in writing at transportation@ngps.ca . No changes will be accepted over the phone.
- Please familiarize yourself and your child with the bus safety information.
- Each eligible student who has submitted an application will be issued a personalized bus pass (all passes must be returned, if service is terminated midyear)
- If your son/daughter needs any specialized supports to ride the bus (wheelchair, etc.) please use the comments field to indicate your child's requirements.

Transportation fees will be refunded only upon return of the student bus pass to the Transportation Department. Fees may be refunded for full months remaining in the school year, not for a portion of a month. No refunds after January 31st of any given school year.

If at any time you wish to cancel the busing for your child. Please login to the Parent Portal and submit the bus cancellation form. Please note no verbal cancellations or requests will be accepted.
Please note that fees will not be adjusted without the Bus Cancellation form being submitted and the bus pass being returned to the transportation department, even if your child has never ridden the bus.
Full months remaining in the school year may be refunded however, no refunds will be processed after January 31st. of any given school year.
Please refrain from using your computer's autofill in the address fields as this creates errors in the application and may cause you to have to apply again. Thank you.
Completing your bus application:
To complete the application process, payment in full must be in place through SchoolCash Online or in person at the transportation office located
at 4816-49 Avenue, Whitecourt, Alberta prior to your child being registered or placed onto a bus route. Note: No applications will be taken over the phone.
Please remember to set up your e-mail under my information to ensure you will receive notifications of delayed busing.

Once the application has been received in our office and a confirmation email has been provided to you, please go to the Parent Portal
and login or if your family is NEW to busing please create a New Subscriber. Once created and the email has been verified please login
and add your children under the My Children Tab.
